Role Overview:

This is a unique opportunity to take on a key position of responsibility in a nationally recognized and fast-growing commercial equipment finance company. Engs Commercial Finance Co. is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc., and specializes in transportation, industrial, and construction asset lending. We are looking for a motivated and experienced risk management professional who will conduct risk analysis and data modeling on our portfolio, identifying areas to optimize risk policy, scores, and risk practices.

Role Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Credit Risk Analysis:  Evaluate and analyze underwriting criteria, the scores used, the score cut thresholds, the exposure limits, etc., using regression and analytic tools.  Create professional and data-driven proposals to modify our policies and enhance portfolio performance
  • Loss Forecasting:  Compile relevant data (bureau, 3rd party, on-us, collateral pricing, macro-economic, etc.) and accurately and consistently forecast future losses
  • Pricing Analysis:  Evaluate and optimize our loan pricing structure in order to maintain market-competitive rates and structures while effectively pricing for future losses, all while boosting portfolio yields
  • Data Modeling:  Utilize cutting-edge modeling skills to improve and build new underwriting, pricing, collection call, etc. data models.  Models should be highly predictive, robust and statistically sound.
  • New Business Opportunities:  Leverage our existing portfolio data to recommend policies and forecast performance for new business opportunities
  • Portfolio Sale/Purchase:  Participate in portfolio transaction efforts, identifying the segments that perform best/worst and buying/selling portfolio assets accordingly
  • Optimization:  Conducting overall data optimization for a high-growth and exciting financial services leader

Background/Education

  • Advanced Degree Preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of data, credit risk and modeling
